My special interests are the chemical signals that guide miracidial host-finding. This forces me to deal with glycoconjugate and carbohydrate analysis. However, most of my time is wasted by trying to keep our computer system running. See also here.

Erlangen is situated near the Frankonian Switzerland (Fränkische Schweiz), a very nice region with about 400 small breweries! (You probably feel like Garfield after visiting all of those...)
