You'll find the highest density of small breweries in the world just north of Erlangen. So, if you want to find out anything about the natives of Frankonia, we recommend to purchase the exellent "Brauereiführer Franken" (Verlag Stefan Mack) and check out all breweries described there...
Even the most expertised members of our group (namely Karin and Bernhard) couldn't agree on a ranking, but

• Berni suggests to eat "Knöchla" in Friesen,
• Tina wants you to say hello to Helmut in Schlammersdorf,
• you'll find Jan at the Friedl's Kreuzbergkeller Wednesdays around 7 p.m.,
• and, if you are very lucky, Martin biking between Erlangen and Leutenbach to refuel on Drummer-Bier.
• You also will find Karin in any brewery or pub or whatever, provided they still serve beer.

We still haven't decided if our group rests in the breweries around Aisch just to pause from collecting parasitized snails, or if we started to study trematode snail-hosts because they (tastefully) happen to prosper around these breweries ....
Anyway, visit us there on any given sunshiny day...
