So far I analyzed glycoconjugates of Rana conditioned water (RCW), which seem to be attractive for cercariae of Isthmiophora melis.
Now I started to analyze molecular attractants of fish mucus, forcing spores of Myxobolus
cerebralis to extrude their polar filaments.
Update:
After his graduation in our group Dr. Dennis Kallert continued his very successful research work at LMU Munich, the Vetmeduni Vienna and returned for a return stipend to the FAU Erlangen after a Feodor Lynen-Fellowship for a two-year stay at the VMRI of the Academy of Sciences in Budapest and also as a freelancer working in projects on fisheries biology (see his publications) and has now, together with Tina Loy, established a successful private research enterprise http://www.kul-lab.de/index.html
